More of the Most Productive Brokerages vs. More of the Biggest

The REAL Trends 500, released March 29, will rank the nation’s largest participating brokerages by transaction sides and, secondarily, by sales volume. The “500” has a double meaning: REAL Trends focuses on the 500 participating brokerages with the most 2018 sides – but it also publishes an expanded list of all  participating brokerages with at least 500 sides. While in past years the top 500 spots were dominated by mega brokerages such as KW’s that average hundreds of agents, RE/MAX overwhelmingly qualified the most brokerages capable of closing 500 or more sides.

In addition, the REAL Trends 500 provides the stats needed to calculate the all-important agent productivity comparisons that power RE/MAX vs. the Industry and numerous marketing claims, including the claim that “RE/MAX agents outsell other agents by more than 2 to 1 at large brokerages.” Look for the recruiting and retention materials to be released in April.

The RISMedia Power Broker Survey focuses on  participating brokerages’ sales volume rather than transaction sides. The Top 500 participating firms ranked by sales volume will appear in the April edition of RISMedia’s Real Estate magazine, and a complete ranking of participating firms by both sales volume and transaction sides will appear online at rismedia.com April 1.

The Power Broker Survey criteria changes almost every year. For the 2019 rankings, brokerages need both $75 million in sales volume and 250 sides to qualify. Those amounts are half what the 2018 minimums were.

Having More of “America’s Best”

Released in summer, the 2019 REAL Trends agent rankings are anticipated to validate that RE/MAX has more elite producers than any other brand, with KW having the second-most. (Amazing, considering that KW’s U.S. network has three times as many agents as RE/MAX.) The Thousand rankings will be released June 28. An expanded version of The Thousand, America’s Best Real Estate Professionals will be released July 9. To qualify for America’s Best, an individual must have closed 50 transaction sides or $20 million in sales volume in 2018. A team needs 75 sides or $30 million.

RE/MAX has placed the most agents in America’s Best for four consecutive years – 3,146 of the total 13,841 qualifiers in the 2018 rankings (based on 2017 production). REAL Trends estimates this year’s qualifiers may total as many as 16,000, in part because it is now partnering with real estate coach Tom Ferry to attract more entries. It's anticipated that RE/MAX will again have the most qualifying agents.

The 2019 national rankings will likely once again validate that RE/MAX is Home of the Best Agents®. They’ll substantiate that RE/MAX agents outsell, on average, agents of KW and other major competitors.

And RE/MAX brokers and agents can leave the ranking entries to RE/MAX, LLC.
